Ryedale Tenancy Support Service (Stonham)

Stonham is England’s largest provider of housing and support for vulnerable and socially excluded people. We work in partnership with local authorities, health care providers, probation services and other agencies, to deliver services to over 20,000 clients each year.

The support we offer is varied and tailored to each individual client’s needs, we will arrange to visit you in your own home, and you would have a named support worker to work with. Key areas of support and opportunities might involve:

  • Support to maintain your home, or move on and settle into a new home.
  • Help with budgeting, debt advice, paying bills and claiming relevant benefits.
  • Signposting and access to local services e.g housing agencies, specialist support agencies, education, training and employment.
  • Help with speaking up for yourself.

Not a drop, Not a drag – Stay Sober, Save Lives

Given that there have been so many awareness-raising campaigns about the dangers of drink driving, it is a scandal that some people still drink and drive, both after drinking and also the morning after drinking, and the deaths continue. It is equally scandalous that some drivers drive after taking illegal drugs. Illegal drugs can stay in your system for weeks or even months – it just isn’t possible to have driving and illegal drugs in your life at the same time.

The Brake road safety charity is calling on all drivers to commit to not drink even a drop of alcohol before driving, nor take even a drag on a joint or any other illegal drug. We are also calling on communities to inform the police of known drunk and drugged drivers and help save a life.

Have a SAFE Christmas and New Year!

Can YOU speak more than one language?

Free training for members of the community to become accredited interpreters

The Migration Impact Fund has provided some funding to help us to offer a training package, professional examination and registration on the National Register of Public sector Interpreters. We will also be actively encouraging the interpreters to volunteer within their communities.
Interpreters will be able to earn between £33 and £66 per hour. The course and materials will be supplied free of charge to potential interpreters.  The course will cover the practicality of interpreting but also diversity, equality and integrity.  We are working with the public and voluntary sectors to recruit interpreters across the Yorkshire and Humber regions. We have identified that we need over 30 languages from around the world to provide the community with a quality service from councils, police and support networks.
I hope that this might be of interest to you [or others you know]. If you wish to become more involved in the project or would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
